EMC FM offer the following services

Emergency Light Testing

Emergency lighting (EM Lighting) is lighting for an emergency situation when the main power supply is lost causing any normal illumination to fail. The loss of mains electricity could be the result of a fire or a power cut and the normal lighting supplies fail. This may lead to sudden darkness and risk to the occupants, either through physical danger or panic.
We ensure that the emergency lighting in our client’s buildings are kept maintained through the procedure of regular testing. Emergency lighting is required to operate fully automatically and give a sufficiently high level of illumination to enable all occupants to evacuate the premises safely. The majority of new buildings now have emergency lighting installed during construction to comply with the clear guidelines set out in the regulations for emergency lighting systems BS 5266-1: 2011.

Legionella Testing

As part of our planned preventitive maintenance (PPM) services we also provide advice and consultancy through to microbiological sampling, water system analysis and the delivery of chemical solutions. We can plan how to best achieve the requirements by providing a full risk assessment of your building. We understand how important these water services are to our clients who value our ability to respond quickly to their needs.
Lightning Protection Testing
Ensuring that your lightning protection is in good working order is important to reduce the risk of hazards created by lightning current effects. The possible types of damage include injuries to people due to step and touch voltage, physical damage to the building such as fire, explosion or mechanical destruction and possible failures to internal systems due to lightning electromagnetic impulse.
EMC FM will ensure your building is protected and maintained to achieve the latest British Standard (BS EN 62305) to reduce these inherent risks associated with lightning.

Fire Alarm Testing

In order to dramatically reduce the loss of life and damage caused by fire, considerable increased demands have been placed on employers, building owners and occupiers by the introduction of The Fire Safety Order.
The Responsible Person is legally obliged to conduct a Fire Risk Assessment to identify the precautions needed to comply with the legislation and to implement and maintain a fire management plan. EMC can provide risk assessments as required. EMC FM incorporate this as part of their fire safety services, designed to keep your business safe.
The Responsible Person must appoint a competent person to assist in undertaking these fire precautions. This can be a third-party quality assured company such as EMC Facilities Management Ltd.
